Homeschooling One Child |
Near Your Altar |
Homeschooling One Child was developed, quite honestly, because I homeschool one child. When I started homeschooling our daughter, Laura (the youngest of four), I realized quickly that there just weren't that many resources for someone homeschooling just one. Sure, there were tons of resources for large families, but none for our unique situation. So, with the Lord's prodding and blessing, Homeschool One Child was started. It has since shifted focus a little, to include families with any number of children but who teach each child differently, due to special needs, interests, what-have-you. All children learn differently--as singletons or multiples--and that is what makes Homeschooling One Child pretty special in my opinion. If you homeschool, please check it out.

Near Your Altar technically started way back in 2005, before I even knew "blogging" was a thing. I'd write encouraging, Scripture-related posts and email them to people who I thought would appreciate them. Later, I created an actual website--thanks to blogging friends and conferences, Near Your Altar has grown to encourage people in the Christian faith all over the world. Because of many difficulties in my personal life (see my testimony here), I made that the focus of this beloved blogsite: to encourage discipleship despite difficulties.
